What Is The Best Flat Iron To Buy?
Personal recommendations from friends and family are great, especially if you can try out the straightener. That way you can see the results and decide if it works the best for you. Also, read as many flat iron reviews as you can. When using reviews you should compare like with like; obviously comparing an expensive GHD flat iron to that of a cheap Conair flat iron is meaningless.
The following recommendation are by no means exhaustive, but are meant to help you along the way.
Cheap
A good cheap iron is one that will at least straighten hair and not burn it. No matter what model you buy make sure it has ceramic plates; it's best if the plates are solid ceramic and not just coated, though this is easier said than done. The Conair flat iron is great value for money. The Infiniti 1 1/2" is a good all round straightener and costs as little as $40. It's cordless and also has tourmaline coated ceramic plates. What's really very appealing is that it comes with a 5 year limited warranty.
Wet To Dry
The wet to dry flat iron is becoming increasingly popular as the need to first blow dry hair perfectly dry is done away with, which saves times and subjects hair to less damaging heat. Nearly every manufacturer now makes one. The model you buy should have special channels and vents to allow excess moisture to drain and evaporate away; if it doesn't have these, it's not really a wet to dry appliance. A good budget model is the Wigo Damp or Dry Ceramic 2" flat iron. The Maxiglide has 'bursts of steam' which those with very unmanageable hair might like, though it's rather heavy and bulky. My favorite is the Corioliss Tourmaline Ceramic Wet to Dry flat iron with 1.75" plates - a very well-built and easy to use tool.
Professional
If you really want one of the best flat irons you should look to buy a professional standard model. They're expensive but they'll last longer, do the job quicker and better than cheaper models. Companies like Paul Mitchell, CHI and Solia make good models, however I would recommend the GHD Mk4 flat iron - very expensive but probably the best styling tool on the market.
Trendy
Yes, hair straighteners are becoming more beautiful to look at. First we had pink ones and even purple ones and ones with lime green plates. But, the most trendy and stylish looking has to be the Linea-Pro Corioliss C2 flat iron. It not only looks good but is also a very good styler. It has nano-silver technology (kills 99% of bacteria and removes dirt from hair, leaving it shinier), an overall sleek design, has a funky digital remote control and comes in very stylish color combinations.
As I said earlier, there's no such thing as the best flat iron. You can pay top dollar for one like the GHD flat iron or buy one that's cheap like the Conair flat iron, it doesn't matter. What matters is that your happy using it and are happy with the way it straightens and styles your hair.

What Is The Right Hair Color For Me?
One of the first considerations is how much of your hair do you want to color, and do you want to just use one color or several? Monochromatic color means that one color is used over your entire head, whereas multicolored or toned includes highlights and lowlights.
Highlights are used to enhance and brighten the base color, and are usually applied more heavily along the top of the head and around the face for a brightening effect. Lowlights are darker in color or tone than the base color, and give the hair depth and the appearance of fullness when applied to the underlying layers of hair. With a multi tonal or color style there is a natural look to the color, and the awful root growth problem of many single hair colors is minimized.
While there is always the option to go completely wild and add blues, pinks or even purples to your hair, most people tend to stick with more traditional colors. Choosing a color that matches your skin tone and eye color can give your color a more natural appearance. Reds and coppers are always popular, but they are colors that fade and change quickly, so be prepared for frequent touch ups if you use these colors.
For dark skin tone the rich colored browns and reds with darker toned lowlights really draw attention to the skin. Golden skin looks best with dark reds and auburns, and should not be used with bright yellows, oranges or bright golds as the skin often looks sallow. Pink or very fair skin looks terrific with ashes, honeys and neutral colors. As you age, it is advisable to lighten your color slightly to help blend any naturally occurring gray hair into the color and avoid as many trips to the salon.
Semi permanent colors and color rinses are a great way to experiment with different colors at home. They are not the old, chemical smelling treatments anymore, and are easy to apply at home. The process involves an application of the color, wait time, and a rinse, shampoo and conditioner. The beauty of these products is that they only last a short while in the hair, and allow you to try several colors to decide what is best for you.
After you have decided on the color or tones that you wish to use, you then need to consider if you want to do it yourself or go to a stylist. The benefit of doing it yourself is that you can easily fit the time into your busy schedule. The benefit of going to a salon is that the stylist can make suggestions and even update your hairstyle at the same time. Consider the final result, and what you are trying to accomplish when choosing a color. Match your skin tone with your hair to enhance your hair and face. A wild, bright color is very eye catching and unique, where a more subdued color may be more appropriate in a professional setting.

Excessive Hair Growth
You have to make a conscious effort to work on it and only then it will show. Firstly check what you are eating, because your body gets nutrition from what you consume. So if it junk food and hotdogs then your hair too gets little or no nourishment. Vitamin E and A is a necessity so eat up green vegetables and take some salad with you if you are working. Eat every two hours something like biscuits, nutri-biscuits, soups, juices and curd. You can take some nuts along with you like almonds, pistachios, walnuts, cashews and raisins. Eat as minimum as a five a day.
Exercise is important for your hair. When your body is healthy, blood circulation takes place better reaching every corner of your head. An oil massage once every week or fortnightly will work wonders for you. Make an appointment at your local parlour; opt for olive oil or coconut oil. Get some sleep immediately when you get home and don’t wash your hair for the next day at least. If you can, leave it on for 2 days, then wash it off. If the oil does not seem to get washed off the hair, do not use excessive shampoo or conditioner. Let it be. Wash it again the next day.
Because another grave reason why hair gets brittle and shows no interest in growing is because of the use of shampoo. Some shampoos are very strong and wash off the dandruff but leave you will dull, dry hair. So buy a shampoo that is mild and not very strong. Sometimes it also depends on how we wash our hair, than the shampoo. Remember the days of yore when women used soap to wash their hair. Yet their hair had great quality.
And if you want your hair to grow, you must get a hair cut every three months. So don’t just wait for your hair to grow because a hair cut stems new hair while the dead ones are snipped away.

Getting The Right Hair Dye Color
Non-dyed hair never has perfectly even color. Bleach is not a hair dye its more of a color strip. If you only want a 100% all natural hair dye then use the plant based henna hair color. Meanwhile, temporary dyes and highlight treatments should be able to color hair without the need for harsh chemicals.
More specifically, the question is which color of hair will hair dye affect the most. Never mix different hair dye products, because you can induce potentially harmful reactions (if not an unappealing hair color). White girls can dye their hair any color they want.
The same hair color dyes are used as are used in other permanent hair color products. Because permanent dyes contain hydrogen peroxide, they cover gray hair more effectively and can be used to lighten hair color, unlike other dyes. Underground Color is a semi-permanent hair dye, which means it won't wash out the next day. The law does not require that coal tar hair dyes be approved by FDA, as is required for other uses of color additives.
The solution of hair dyes does not allow for any, "gradual," color change when, and if, you feel it's time to do so. However frequent applications would be required to sustain the color as the dye fades with time, exposure to environment and regular washing of hair.
I use to dye my hair blue black and wanted to change it to red. When you color your hair the first time, you have to dye out your normal hair melanin color and replaced it with red dye. Therefore, some bats are marked with black hair dye and the other are marked with red hair dye.
You see that luscious red head on the hair dye box and you think, "Wow! I'm getting ready to do that to my black hair and dye it red on top of that. But the red color is not going to come out exactly as seen in the model of the Hair Dye box. As a rule of thumb, the color you will get depends on your natural hair color.
If you have dark hair, your red will come out a dark red, and if you have very light, or blonde colored hair, your red well come out flaming red! So, don’t always believe that you will be getting exactly the same color as portrayed in the box.

Hair Color Secrets – Which Color Is Right For You?
Hair color correction is a big money maker in salons nationwide. The reason: over-the-counter hair coloring products have given consumers the impression that hair color is easy and extremely affordable. One look at a professionally-colored model on a commercial or glossy magazine page, and many people clamor to the closest drug store to purchase a $5 box of color with the hopes of receiving a $50 salon look.
The results are often disastrous, and it can take hundreds of dollars to correct a hair color problem that could have been prevented with just a tiny bit of knowledge and planning.
The most common problem seen with hair coloring at home and in salons is choosing a hair color that is too light for the natural shade of hair. Realistically, color can only lighten hair beautifully by a few shades. If you go any lighter than a few shades, you need to choose a high-lift product such as bleach or a professional highlighting system. Failure to do this often results in hair color that is much too brassy or even orange.
Word to the wise: high-lift hair coloring should only be performed by professionals. The controlled chemicals used in the process, if used incorrectly, can result in irreparable damage and/or chemical burns on the scalp and skin.
Another hair color mistake that is seen quite often is choosing a color that is too dark. Extremely dark hair color can be the most challenging to correct because dark color can actually stain the cortex (inner layer) of the hair, making it almost impossible to lighten. Again, avoid choosing hair colors that are more than a few shades darker than your own to prevent a costly cortex stain.
When it comes to choosing the right shade of hair color to use, pick tones and shades that flatter your skin tone. Choose warm shade of hair color (reds and warm browns) if you look best in warm-colored clothing such as reds, pinks and oranges. Choose a cool shade (beige, pale blonde highlights and neutral colors) if you look best in blues and greens.
As you can see, just a little bid of planning and knowledge can save you from costly hair coloring disasters. And by making an informed decision before you purchase hair color, you will not only save money, you will also save your hair from needless damage.
Hair color is a chemical, and every time you chemically process your hair, you damage it to some extent. The damage can be minimal, as is usually the case with high-end professional hair coloring systems, or can be extreme. And each time you use hair color to correct a problem, you are damaging your hair even more.
Here are just a few tell-tale signs that your hair has been over processed with hair color and other chemicals.
" The hair is limp and dull, and no amount of styling can bring back its luster and bounce.
" The hair color has faded dramatically, and you are left with brassy and banded hair color. (Banded hair color is evident by the sudden change of hair color along the hair shaft. For example: the hair may be dark until about 2" from the scalp where it turns a brassy orange.)
" The hair is extremely dry and brittle. When it is wet, it is almost impossible to comb it without causing breakage.
You can avoid damage to your hair caused by hair coloring by taking the same precautions recommended for choosing the right hair color. Choosing the right hair color reduces the amount of color applications, therefore, reducing the chances of your hair becoming over processed.

Thinning Hair? Coloring Tricks That Save You Money Whether Your Hair Is Thinning Or Not
Do you get annoyed when you’ve just slathered your head in hair color and half the bottle is still left over? There’s nothing useful you can do with that leftover hair color -- it’ll just go down the drain. What a waste!
Could there be a better way? Read on for the answer.
While thinning hair really benefits greatly from hair coloring since it’ll look much thicker afterwards, it simply doesn’t take as much color to do the job as it does for thicker hair. And yet, it’s all the more important to do frequent root touch-ups, where there’s even more waste. Or is there?
After finding myself annoyed repeatedly, I started experimenting. Here’s the solution I came up with that helps me avoid all that waste and save some money to boot:
For starters, I save now don't throw out the mixing or applicator bottles once I'm done, but I save it. I clean it, and then reuse it to mix the hair color in smaller batches the next time around.
For the brand I use, the two ingredients are conveniently added in equal proportions. So it’s really easy to use just half the amount in the package. And that’s how much I need when I do my entire head of hair.
For touch-up jobs, you'll be able to use even smaller amounts, so one bottle will be good for one full round of hair coloring as well as 2-3 minor touch-ups. During those touch-ups, you’ll mostly put color on the roots and then, a few minutes before the end of the processing time, just distribute the color mix all over the rest of your hair to keep the colors even. You won’t really need much color to do that. For the first few times, it will take some experimentation to see just how much or how little color you will need, but it will be worth it. And the money you'll save with this technique: you do the math.
Here is a second trick: If you're planning to get a haircut in the foreseeable future, it's a good idea to get your hair cut before you color your hair. You will need less color.
And last but not least: Are you getting annoyed at getting color splotches all over your towels?
I have figured out a solution for that one too:
I use several sheets of paper towel and pin them to the edge of the shower curtain with clothes pins. Then, when I rinse the color out of the hair and have my eyes squeezed shut for fear of getting any color in them, I can just blindly grab one of those paper towels and dry my eyes.
And if I notice any color on the paper towels after I do that, I know I will need to rinse some more. Meanwhile, my towels stay clean.
Savings: your towels last a lot longer. How much that will mean in actual money savings depends on your tolerance for ratty-looking towels and/or the price of your towels.
So between getting 2-3 extra color treatments out of any one bottle on the one hand and no longer ruining your towels on the other, you may well save enough to pay for some of your haircuts. And, by the way, if and when your hair gets thicker again, you can still use those tricks and still save almost as much.

Short Hair Style; Short Hair Styles That Are Easy To Follow
Hair updos provide the perfect style for any occasion. Wedding updos can be elegant, sophisticated, and beautiful. Prom updos can be fun and flirty or classy and gorgeous. Similarly, hair updos can provide a casual look for day to day activities or a business look for work. Or, those looking for a little added sex appeal can experiment with a variety of hair updos to let the sultry side shine.
Half Up/Half Down Hair Updos
One interesting variation of hair updos is the half up/half down style. These modified hair updos involve pinning up part of the hair while allowing the rest of the hair to flow around the shoulders or back. These hair updos can look stunning on a wedding day or they can look sexy for a night on the town.
Generally, those using half up/half down style hair updos have medium to long hair, though shorter hair can still be attractive with these styles. Many women choosing to sport one of these hair updos, however, elect to add hair extensions to add to the contrast and beauty of the style. Half up/half down style hair updos can work with curly hair or straight hair and women with bangs can easily incorporate the hair cut into the style.
Women with fine hair sometimes have a difficult time with half up/half down style hair updos because the pins holding it in place have a tendency to slip. Therefore, it is generally best to treat the hair ahead of time with plenty of gel and holding spray and to use many bobby pins.
Creating Half Up/Half Down Hair Updos
Even if the hair is not thin, it is best to refrain from washing the hair for at least 24 hours before creating a half up/half down style. This is because the natural oils in the hair help the parts and knots used in these hair updos stay tight and long lasting. If the hair has been recently washed, it needs to be treated with hair spray or gel to prep it for styling.
After the hair is ready for hair updos, it should be brushed thoroughly and made free of tangles and knots. Then, sections of about 1-2” thickness should be created and straightened with a flat iron. After the hair has been allowed to cool, the tail of a rattail comb should be used to create a side part. This part should extend from the front of the hairline to about 2 inches from the crown of the head.
The hair should then be brushed from the part to the hairline’s opposite side. Then, the new section that has been created should be pulled behind the ear. The stylist should then use her hands and a paddle brush to smooth the hair in order to contain all of the random hairs within the new section.
The hair should then be temporarily clipped behind the ear. One small strand of hair can also be pulled from the new section in order to create an accent piece. This strand should be taken from near the eyebrow and it can be left either straight or slightly curled.
Next, the other side of the hair should be brushed until it is smooth. It should be brushed behind the other ear and also clipped temporarily. Each section can then be unclipped from behind the ears one at a time. The sections should then be separated equally into bottom and top sections, making each section into two new sections. The bottom portion should be pulled into a loose ponytail in order to keep it out of the way for the next step.
Then, one of the top sections should be brushed toward the middle of the back portion of the head and rolled into a fairly flat and horizontal hair roll. It should be pinned securely and flatly against the scalp. It is generally necessary to add a light gel or a setting lotion to each section of the hair at this point. Otherwise, the hair may be too slippery and will not hold well.
The other top section should then also be rolled to the middle and back section of the head. It is important to be sure to slightly overlap the first section that was rolled. The second roll needs to be pinned in a fashion that hides the first roll. The entire area then needs to be sprayed with hairspray in order to keep it in place.
A large decorative clip, a flower, or other hair accessory can then be added. Not only is this attractive, it also helps to hide the overlapping hair rolls. For a little more pizzazz, a bit of glitter gel can also be added to the sides or back.
The sections that were being temporarily held in loose ponytails can then be let out. A curling iron can be used to create a soft bend in the ends of the hair. These will also need to be sprayed in order to hold them in place.

Prom Hair Style Tips
Prom night is obviously one of the most important social events in a teen's life. It combines romance, a party atmosphere, and a sense of saying goodbye to high school and carefree days. Everyone wants their prom experience to come off without a hitch and become a memory they'll cherish for the rest of their lives. For many girls, one aspect of the big night often becomes incredibly important: which prom hair style to choose.
There's more to this decision than you might think. Prom hair styles have to withstand a lot of activity for several hours. Imagine trying to keep a hair style looking great while dancing, rushing around to see friends, and then partying at all of the after-prom parties. Whew! Seen in that light, choosing the best hair style takes more careful planning than you thought, huh?
Formal or Functional?
Probably the biggest decision you have to make is whether to go with a seriously formal hair style for prom, or one that is less formal but more functional and able to handle the frenetic activity without falling apart. It's easier for girls with short hair, of course, but they also have fewer styling options. Teens with longer hair have more options on the formal side, but also then have to deal with more potential problems on prom night - especially after they've been dancing and rushing around for a couple of hours!
So, ultimately your choice of prom hair style comes down to your level of willingness to deal with maintaining the style all night. For many girls, it's important enough to deal with. For others, convenience is a higher priority. If you fall into the first group, a formal updo is a popular hair style for prom. It's a classic look that makes for beautiful prom pictures. If, however, you're more about the dancing and less about the elegance, sweeping your hair back into a ponytail is a great solution, and probably the most common choice.
Get Expert Advice
Whichever direction you go, the best advice is to enlist the help of your hair stylist! If your stylist is good and has been doing the job for more than just a year or two, chances are he or she will have tons of great advice about how you should style your hair for prom. The longer you've been going to that stylist, the better, because he or she will know your preferences and personality well enough to make appropriate suggestions. Together, you should be able to come up with a great choice. Make it easier by looking through magazines and web sites and cutting or printing out pictures of the prom hair styles you like the most. Keep them in a folder and take them with you when you visit your stylist for a consult.
A common mistake many girls make is not planning far enough in advance. You never know what a hair style will look like until you're sporting it. Don't get stuck with one you hate on prom night because you ran out of time! You can easily avoid that disaster by getting with your stylist at least a month before your prom and having him or her try several styles. Have your mom or a friend take pictures from several angles in each style so you can review them later and make a good decision without feeling rushed. When prom night finally arrives, you'll enjoy it a lot more knowing that the hair style you're wearing is the best one for you. No surprises!

Best Classic and Contemporary Hairstyles For Prom Nights
The Prom night is one of the most important and special occasions in every young girl’s life. Everything must be prepared before the big night—the outfit, shoes, the wheels, perfume, make-up, and to top it all—the hairstyle.
Going Classic
Young ladies have so many choices when it comes to prom night hairstyles. The most common hairdos during this special occasion are updos, half updos and down dos. Each of these categories has exceptional hairstyles that would match any prom dress. Half updos are often best for this occasion because the hairstyles under this category are easy to create and there are no complex buns or chignons to make. The hair can also be propped pretty much like the down do and it can be pinned at the back for a depiction of elegance. These are the most common half updo hairstyles:
• Pinned back curls
• The High Sweep updo
• High Ponytail
• Side Ponytail
These can be done by pleating the front of the hair and the rest should fall on both sides. This hairdo can be added with curls. Curled hair can be pinned at the back while the front hair has a full fringe. High and side ponytails are both hassle-free hairdos and are best for those who were not able to prepare well. Although these two can be done in just a few minutes, the results are still charming.
2008 Prom Dos
The 2008 prom season bring about many fashionable hairstyles. Most of these were taken from celebrities’ hairstyles during red carpet awards nights and premiers. Short hair is quite popular for prom night 2008 and the common choices include the bob and crop. These haircuts give emphasis to the feminine features of the wearer. Medium hairstyles, on the other hand, is comprised of the sleek look and added curls. The longer versions include the trendy updos and the left-flowing hairstyle.
• Short hairstyles are often smooth to depict glamour. This can be done by making sections of the hair and smoothing them out. The front hair (which is also the widest section) must be swept to forehead. Each of the sides should be styled close to the wearer’s face. This is a popular choice because it softens the features of person who wears it. Paddle brush can then be used to re-style the hair after a few hours of dancing. The edges can be smoothened with the use of a flat iron.
• A variation of the short hairstyle is to do all of the above except that the sides have to be combed to the ears and not left to flow. Either way, the young girl would surely catch one young man’s attention.
Medium-length hairstyles are versatile and would instantly look glamorous with the addition of a few curls. The secret is to have a sweeping fringe and added curls to the locks. Half updos also do well with medium length hair. These styles look formal and can be worn with the best prom dresses.
Long hair would never go wrong during prom night especially when proper hairstyling was done. There are much more choices for young ladies with long hair. There is the casual bun; the half updo; the sweeping fringe with added curly locks; parted hair with flicked edges; etc.

How To Choose The Prom Hairstyles Suitable For Yourselves
According to the philosophy of painting, rich and green leaves would set off a beautiful and prominent flower. Similarly, a beautiful prom hairstyle should be conformed to your face in order to bulge out your own characteristics and attractiveness. In designing the prom hairstyle, it is essential to highlight the beautiful parts of your face but to cover those weaknesses.
In choosing your most suitable prom hairstyle, you should consider a lot of factors including the shape of your face, head, nose, eyes and their ratios of each other. The facial shape would be the most influential factors among all. Different hairstyles would suit for different facial shapes. Basically, there are four types of common facial shapes to consider with, i.e. the oval shape, the triangular shape, the round shape and the rectangular shape.
The Oval Facial Shape
Most people think that an oval facial shape gives a friendly feeling and it suits for many different hairstyles. Nevertheless, it would give a false impression that an oval facial shape would be lack of personal characteristics. Therefore, it is especially important for an oval facial shape to choose a more distinctive hairstyle to extrude her unique character. Besides, a more frequent changed hairstyle is suggested since it could help to project her attributes.
With distinctive and appealing facial features and contour, a simple prom hairstyle should be chosen in order to transpire her unique temperament. Hair length to the jaw would be the most suitable choice. Besides, a badminton type prom hairstyle would also be suitable since it could draw people attention to her appealing facial features.
On the other hand, for those with less distinctive facial features, they should choose a middle to long hairstyle, and the hair should not be set backward.
The Triangular Facial Shape
Triangular facial shape could be classified into heart shape and pear shape. For a heart facial shape, it should be aware that the prom hairstyle should not be set to exaggerate a weak and crummy impression. A smoothie-curved hair is recommended for both long and short hair which could help to project a more able character. The following prom hairstyle designs are suitable for most heart facial shape,
a. An imbalance prom hairstyle could help to smooth out the weakness of the pointed jaw. It could divert people attention to other facial features. Besides, with attractive earrings and headdress, it gives people a vivid and fresh affection.
b. Hair length at two sides should be set to the cheek. It should be moderately enriched and set backward so as to beef up the impression of a wider jaw. Besides, it is better to set a smoothly curved bang which could neutralize the weak and tense feelings due to the pointed jaw.
c. A too short hair or too thin hair at two sides would exacerbate the weakness of the pointed jaw which should be avoided.
For a pear facial shape, the setting could be based on dividing the face into four equal parts, and the prom hairstyle should be set to make up an overall oval facial shape impression.
The Round Facial Shape
A round facial shape projects an affection of vivid and naïve. However, it would also give a false impression of immaturity. It is suggested to set up the hair at the front part to make up a more oval shape impression. For instant, an inner curved bang or thickened bang could well serve this purpose. The following prom hairstyles design are suggested for most round facial shape,
a. Short and cute hairstyles could further protrude the vivid image. However, the hair at two sides should not be too thick. A “S” shaped curved bang obliquely through the forehead could lessen the immature impression. Besides, the thickness and the size of the bang should be designed based on the size, shape and distant of the eyes.
b. An imbalance prom hairstyle could lessen the round shape impression which is recommended in most cases.
c. The hair at two sides should be set to the jaw and attached to the face. It is suggested to match with an imbalance bang or smoothie curved bang which gives a soft and tender temperament. Besides, the hair after the ears should be thickened and lengthened to balance the round facial shape.
The Rectangular Facial Shape
In general, many of the top models are in rectangular facial shape. In fact, a rectangular facial shape delivers a unique character of cool and determination. The following prom hairstyle designs are recommended,
a. A long hair with smoothie curve could neutralize the firm impression of rectangular facial shape. Hair at two sides should be set to the chin with curve and layer impression. It should be aware that giving a natural feel is very important, otherwise, the hair set would be more easy to frame the face for rectangular facial shape.
b. Imbalance prom hairstyles could also neutralize the inflexible feeling. It could match with suitable earrings and headdress to accentuate own unique character and individuality.
c. A too short and too straight hair would magnify the firm impression. It is only suitable for those with appealing facial features and contour. Otherwise, a layered inner curved bang would give a more feminine affection.

How Hair Transplant Replacement Works
Hair transplantation – "hair transplant" -- is a surgical procedure that involves moving sections of scalp where hair still grows to a part of the scalp that is bald or where the hair is thinning.
History of hair transplantation
Hair restoration started in 1930, when Japanese doctors experimented to see if skin and hair could be transplanted from healthy parts of the body to parts that had been disfigured by injury.
In 1950, dermatologist Norman Orentreich wrote an article explaining how hair transplantation could be done. Although his studies were not embraced by the scientific community, he became even more determined to prove his theory "donor dominance," which states that even when hair is relocated to a bald area it will continue to grow as it did before. He is considered the father of hair transplants.
Hair transplantation is the most common elective surgery among men. The reason for its popularity among men is the fact that results gained from this procedure are much better compared to other similar hair replacement procedures. The hair transplantation of today is not really different from the hair transplantation Dr. Orentreich performed -- however, today’s hair transplantation involves graft or plug size.
The older method of hair transplantation is easily identified by its patchy appearance. This used to be the norm, until transplant surgeons critically examined the possibilities of using a different graft size. It was determined that better results would be gleaned from using grafts that were smaller.
What happens during a hair transplant?
As mentioned earlier, hair transplantation involves moving small pieces of scalp where hair still grows to a part of the scalp that is bald or where the hair is thinning.
There are five types of grafts, varying in size and shape. These are: punch grafts, mini-grafts, micro-grafts, slit grafts and strip grafts. Since this new method of hair transplantation makes use of smaller sizes of grafts, many surgical procedures are needed to fully covered a bald area, taking as long as two years. The number of large plugs transplanted during the first sessions of surgery varies with each individual, but the average is usually about 50. With mini-graphs or micro-graphs there may be up tp 700 plugs transplanted per session.
For more information on hair transplantation, ask your surgeon.

Perfect Wedding Hairstyle Ideas and Tips
Tips to get what you want from your stylist
How to find a good hairstylist
A great cut starts with a good stylist. However, cutters who are great at short cuts may not be ideal for longer looks.
What's more, many women unreasonably expect a hardresser to be able to do everything, or they stick with someone they like just because they think they're friends. They're not - stylists are simply people who provide you with a service.
When you know what you want, start by making a list of hairstylists and their qualifications. Here's a roundup of places to look:
Among friends
Recommendations are the best place to start your search. If you know someone who has your hair type and a cut you love, ask who does her hair. Just be sure the stylist is in your price range.
In trendy or sophisticated areas
Depending on what type of cut you want, salons that will best deliver it tend to be located in neighborhoods that reflect that particular style, i.e. don't expect to get the coolest hairdo in the richest part of town. Once you're in the right place, watch customers coming out the door. If you see lots of fabulous cuts, ask the receptionist to recommend a stylist for consultation, or ask a customer who cut her hair.
On hair care websites
Many of professional product companies offer tons of training. See if any of their educators also work in a salon near you by checking out their websites.
Once you find a great salon ot stylist, or if you already have stylist you dig, see how many of the following qualifications apply to him on her: Cutting specialist, platform educator, former cosmetoligy instructor, holder of advanced education certifications, more than 5 years of experience, editorial session hairdressers, in-salon trainer, trained cutter and colorist. The more of these skills and training your stylist has, the better.
Now that you have a stylist in mind, book an appointment for a consultation. If you want to stay with your current hairstylist, let the receptionist know that you need extra appointment time, because you want to talk about making a change.
Photo finish
Next, collect several pictures of looks you like. Some websites even let you upload a photo of yourself so you can give them a virtual test. Before you walk in the door, set some boundaries for what you will and won't do.
In the salon chair, don't be afraid to ask questions, no matter how trivial you think they'll sound. It's a good idea to write down your questions beforehand so you won't forget any of them. Show your photos and discuss how they may work with your hair type, facial shape and lifestyle. Ask if the look will be easy to work with at home.
After talking, ask for suggestions and have the stylist show you what have he or she has in mind. Make certain you're listened to. If you get any negative vibes, get up and go.
If you come to an agreement as to what you want and exactly what will be done, book an appointment. Only go ahead the same day if you're not only certain, but excited. Even then, question anything that doesn't look right.
One the cut is completed, check your hair from all sides.
Don't leave the salon unhappy; speak up when you're in the chair. If you kept close watch, you should have the look you wanted.
Hopefully, there's time left for you to learn some new styling options.
If your stylist lets you know each product used and how to use them, chances are good you'll continue to get what you want for years to come.

Home Hair Care Tips For Dry Hair
Try these tips and remedies to give your hair body and shine quickly and easily!
Try vinegar
To add a beautiful shine to your hair dilute apple-cider vinegar in water (one part vinegar to seven parts water) and rinse your hair with it after you shampoo. A vinegar rinse is great for over-processed hair, and it can also liven up a tired perm.
Use mayonnaise
Many hair-care experts say that mayonnaise makes a good overall conditioner. Rub it into your hair, then leave it on for about 5 minutes, before shampooing it out thoroughly.
Don't use hair tools too often
Overuse of electric curlers, blow dryers, curling irons, straighteners etc. damages and dries out hair. If you're using these tools every day then your haircut isn't working for you. Try a different cut or even a loose perm etc. If you do use a blow dryer, try and use one with no more than 1,000 watts, and reduce the temperature and power level as your hair dries.
Use your fingers
Instead of using a blow dryer, gently fluff and style your hair with your fingers as it dries, always lifting the hair up off the scalp. Bending over as you do this allows gravity to contribute to extra fullness.
Use a humidifier
Dry indoor air is bad for dry hair so when it's winter counteract the standard low-moisture environment with a humidifier. If the humidifier is located in the bedroom, your hair can benefit from 8 hours of added moisture every night.
Limit sun exposure
Humidity is high in summer but the sun is hot and too much sun can damage your hair as well as your skin. If you can't limit sun exposure, try to apply a conditioner to your hair that contains sunscreen after shampooing.
Wear a hat
Hats are a good alternative to sunscreen application so wear a hat before going out in the summer sun.
Use baby oil
To protect your hair from chlorine damage when swimming, apply baby oil to your hair before entering the pool. Use about ½ a teaspoon - more if your hair is long - and work it in to your hair. The oil coats hair shafts and prevents them from absorbing harsh chlorine. After your swim you can shampoo the oil out.

Natural Hair Care Products - Are They For You?
Natural Hair Products have been used for many, many years and by ancient societies. Indians still use herbs like neem, shikakai, henna, bael, brahmi, aloe combined with things like sandalwood, jasmine, turmeric, and rose formulate shampoos and other hair products. Natural hair products are now starting to become more popular as people realize that anytime you use a product on your body some of it will get absorbed. They are particularly popular with pregnant women who do not want to pass on the chemicals to the unborn fetus.
Natural hair products are available more easily now but are more expensive therefore you may want to try to make them at home from scratch. There are many recipes to be found online just by searching for natural hair product recipes. This is a whole new market out there and as I learn more I will post it on my site.
Also, if you are one that does not like too much fuss and are not attached to using a whole array of styling products, natural products are definitely for you. Natural care does not include the use of tools like straighteners or curling irons. Actually if you were to do without these heat appliances you would not need many of the styling products being marketed today. Coloring your hair, which is getting more and more popular, is also not recommended although you can find many natural coloring agents like henna.
It has been determined that, particularly damaged and colored hair greatly benefits when you fully transition to natural hair care regiment. But if you are not totally sold on natural products or if you want to ease into it try these tips first.
Tips
- Use coconut oil or jojoba oil as a hair conditioner. Be sure to rinse completely and with cool water.
- To tame a frizzy mane or to reduce static, put a couple of drops of olive oil in your hand and pull it through from roots to ends.
- Any of the above oils can also be used as a deep conditioner. Put it on all your hair and scalp, cover with a plastic shower cap (for heat) and wrap with a towel. Let it penetrate for 20-30 minutes rinse well.

Long Hair Care Regime
Most women would like to have long, silky hair, but not many of us know that having long hair is not easy to maintain and it could be expensive at times. Some do not mind to spend that money as long as they have long shiny hair which is a sign of health. When the hair is healthy the layers of the cuticle lie flat and reflect light. Therefore, long hair care is a very important issue to learn about, because there is s lot more hair to worry about and specific types of products that are needed for that specific purposes.
There are several different parts of long hair care. The first one is shampooing. There are many different types of shampoos which you can choose from, but for long hair care it is best to use one that is going to focus on taking care of split ends. The shampoo should not be too drying but the hair must not be feeling oily or greasy at the same time.
The ingredients that are included in the shampoo formula is going to definitely have a great impact on how well it works on the hair especially for long hair care. That is why it is so important for you to read the label on the shampoo. Generally the best shampoos are the ones that are all natural and which contain no chemicals or byproducts, because all the ingredients mentioned earlier, they will be gentler and more nourishing on the hair.
Long hair care will need you to find a conditioner. Again the option here will depend largely on the type of hair that it is going to be used for. Just because a person has long hair, this does not mean that they still do not have a certain hair category. There are fine, medium, and thick hair types, and it is very easy for a person to know which they are.
What you have to do is to tie your hair back into a ponytail, and look at the size of the ponytail. If the ponytail is small, it shows the finer the hair, and the bigger the ponytail is the thicker the hair is.
Choose a rich, moisturizing conditioner, especially if your hair tends to get dry or there are a lot or has a lot of product used on it. In long hair care regime, it is vital to be using a volumizing conditioner especially if your hair is limp and fine because this will give body and volume to the hair. Hair can become immune to a specific formula's effects and as a result buildup will occur so it is always a good idea to change the brand of conditioner every month or so.
Things to remember
It is very important for a person who want to keep long hair must know long hair care and so that it is healthy and shiny looking, as long as they take proper care of it and use the right products.

The Long Hair Look Using Hair Extensions
Why does everyone have great long hair? Wow your hair seems like it grew overnight. Most of the time human hair extensions are more costly than synthetic ones. Human hair extensions tend to be the preferred kind of hair extensions because they look and feel a lot more natural then the synthetic kind. Many people who visit the salons to get hair extensions, most people choose to have the human hair extensions, by doing this it gives the extensions a more natural look compared to synthetic hair extensions. Synthetic hair, on the other hand, is colored and styled before application and cannot be changed. These hair extensions can be either synthetic or natural. Synthetic hair costs much less than human hair. Many of today’s methods have been adapted from African-American stylists that weave human or synthetic hair into corn rows for a long, flowing and natural look. First, hair for extensions can be either synthetic or real human hair. The hair that is used can be synthetic or human and varies in price and quality. Hair extensions involve the attachment of human or synthetic hair to your existing hair to create a more full or long look immediately.
A air extensions is just a hairpiece that is a attached to the natural hair or scalp; the extensions improve the length of the hair and thickness. The natural hair of Caucasians is different from that of Asians or Afro-Americans and you should choose an extension that will match your own hair. If you are not careful the wrong tension and additional stress at the scalp could result in soreness around the scalp and the possibility of your hair falling out. Many of today's methods are much faster and can cause less damage to the natural hair. Human hair is very heavy and the extra added weight to already damaged hair can cause the natural hair to fall out---even causing permanent hair loss. Clip-in extensions are suitable for people whose natural hair is shoulder length or longer. If you have a short haircut, but are dying for long locks, buy a wig that is similar in color to your natural hair. Hair extensions are in demand, everyone want to have longer hair, they don’t want to wait for their hair to grow longer because this is the now generation so everyone finds the fast and easy way to get longer hair, when adding the extension gives a more sophisticated look. With fusion hair extensions, the extensions should be indistinguishable from your natural hair. Hair extensions can be added to your own natural hair to add length, volume, and body. Using chemicals is a big problem with hair extensions. The chemicals can irritate your scalp.
With human hair extensions, wearers are not locked into a particular color or style.

Why Short Hair Cuts Are Sexy!
Now, First of all, What is Hair Made of?
Hair is composed primarily of proteins (88%). These proteins are of a hard fibrous type known as keratin. Keratin protein is comprised of what we call "polypeptide chains.” The word, polypeptide, comes from the Greek word "poly" meaning many and "peptos" meaning digested or broken down. In essence, if we break down protein, we have individual amino acids.
Many amino acids joined together form a "polypeptide chain". Two amino acids are joined together by a "peptide bond", and the correct number of amino acids placed in their correct order will form a specific protein; i.e. keratin, insulin, collagen and so on.

· Celebrity hair styles Tip #6- Avoid brushing your hair, instead use a wide-tooth-comb or your fingers.
· Celebrity hair styles Tip #7- Use one tablespoon of baking soda mixed with two tablespoons of shampoo to clarify your hair; but only once a week. Otherwise, you may strip the hair completely of natural oils.
· Celebrity hair styles Tip #8- Avoid blow dryers if possible, towel dry your hair until all the moisture is out. Then allow it to air dry the rest of the way.
· Celebrity hair styles Tip #9- Apply a leave-in conditioner prior to going to sleep; then wash out in the morning.
· Celebrity hair styles Tip #10- After washing, apply conditioner, then rinse well with warm water; then apply a cold water rinse from roots to ends. This will add shine to your hair.
